If you decide to book a room with a balcony to enjoy the view, make sure it faces the beautiful beach and not the parking lot. There’s a great view of the sand dunes and emerald gulf from some of the balconies.
Even though the beach is right across the street, remember that it’s a very busy street. You’ll probably want to drive to insure your safety. Henderson State Park does have a small fee of $4 per car for parking. If you don’t want to pay to park, travel down the beach a mile or so to find beach areas that do not charge.
